  • Private single with private bathroom: $90.00 per night (You will have a dorm suite to yourself.) We are sorry; these rooms are SOLD OUT.

  • Single with bathroom shared with one to three other people: $50.00 per night (You may list who you would like to share a suite with.)

  • Private double (two people sharing a room with private bathroom): $65.00 per night per person

  • Double (two people sharing a room; bathroom shared with others): $40.00 per night per person

* In addition, there will be a one-time $20.00 per person linen fee, plus tax and fee.

Alternatives 2019 lodging will be in newer dorm rooms, Opus Hall and Millennium North and South. Every dorm will have a snack machine and elevator. The college dorms provide a towel, pillow, blanket, and 2 flat sheets. It could be a good idea to bring your own blanket, pillow, and soap supplies to make your stay more more comfortable. Please bring whatever makes you comfortable and independent at home, including mobility devices you use at home. Information on companies to rent what you need in advance at the Accessibility page.

Check in time is 2 pm and check out time is 10 am. You may stay at the University up to three days before and three days after the conference dates if you wish. The number of dorm rooms is limited and we expect them to fill up before the conference date, so reserve early.

We are working to make the Alternatives 2019 Conference as affordable as possible. The conference registration fee will include three buffet-style meals per day. College dorm rooms (with one or two single beds and private or shared bathrooms) are available for an affordable price. The dining hall and all meeting rooms are ADA-accessible; some accessible dorm rooms can be reserved. There is a Metro stop on campus; parking is also available. There are multiple hotels a few Metro stops away (make your reservations early to lock in good prices).

Note: WIFI is available anywhere on campus. No password is necessary. Guests can access it by turning on WIFI and looking for CuaGuest WIFI.

All meeting rooms and dormitory rooms have air conditioning. Bedding, towel, and soap is provided.

The conference begins with dinner on Sunday, July 7, 2019 and goes through breakfast on Friday, July 12, 2019. 

Reserving Accessible Housing

Those in need of accessible accommodations will make their reservation using the same housing reservations system as all other Alternatives 2019 attendees. Please know that staff will be monitoring all dorm room reservations made with ADA requests to ensure people get an appropriate room for their level of need as availability allows. So please make your needs known and reserve early.

Be sure to list required assistive features needed. Please request what you require, keeping in mind there are limited resources so requesting at your level of need and not beyond will allow more people to participate in Alternatives 2019.

For those who are staying in the dorms, please come to the Pryzbyla Center Information Desk to get your key and information for your dorm room. The dorm buildings are a walk and assistance will be provided to those who need it. Parking on Campus

Visitor’s Parking: You will need a CUA permit to park on campus; these permits are required 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Visitors may obtain a visitor’s parking permit online in advance at guestparking.catholic.edu or, after you arrive, from the Office of Transportation and Parking Services, located in Pryzbyla Center 242, close to the Alternatives conference registration desk. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost: $10 per day, $46 per week. You will need your license plate to purchase a parking permit.

“Handicapped” Parking: Vehicles displaying state- or District of Columbia-issued “handicapped” tags or placards are exempt from meter fees. However, to park in “handicapped” parking spaces on campus, you will need to purchase a CUA parking permit in addition to your state-issued tag.
